Hi,
Almost 5 years ago I rescued an abused, neglected baby iguana from a man who could not take care of himself, let alone an animal. This iguana has grown to almost 4 ft. now and is very healthy and has now reached sexual maturity. He is male, and his behavior has become "unpredictable". He is not mean but sometimes he doesn't want to be bothered. Now my family is afraid of him and want me to get rid of him. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have been looking for a new home for him (sorta). I found one man who said he would take him but then I found out he wanted to BBQ him and I freaked out. I refuse to take him to a pet shop. My only other option is to have him put down, but that thought breaks my heart. A while back I put a post on here to try to get him adopted out but I got no response. It seems there is no adoption org. here in Washington State. I just don't know what to do. Does anybody have an idea, thought, opinion, or resource to help me?
Thank you
Martin
