Mildly good news about Petco Iguana...

Yesterday afternoon, I sent an e-mail to my vet, who happens to also be the vet for Petco. In it, I explained the situation the poor female Iguana is in there at the pet-store.
At first, I was unsure as to whether or not she would take an interest in my story, or even want to help me.
To my relief, she emailed me back tonight and told me that she called the manager at Petco herself and scheduled a visit for tomorrow morning. She said she is going to meet with both the "reptile specialist" and the manager and explain to them how iguanas should properly be cared for. She is going to evaluate her living conditions, and advise them how to change them. She's going to go over everything iguanas need to thrive, as well as check out her broken rib, see if she has MBD, and look at the black crusty scabs on her mouth and nose.
So, even if they don't let me adopt the iguana out, at least she's going to get vet care, and a much better living arrangement there at Petco.

I'm so glad to have a vet who cares enough to go do this for an iguana. Vets like this one are hard to come by. Her name is Dr. Dobson, of Riverwoods Pet Hospital in Provo, Ut. Just wanted to drop her name and tell you all what a good thing she's doing in the morning.
I think I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel! I'll update you all tomorrow, since the vet said she'd tell me all about her visit when she returns. Who knows, maybe she'll convince Petco to give her up for adoption...Wouldn't that be a great ending to this long, sad story?
Thanks again to all those who have followed the "Petco Iguana Story". Knowing you all care and that you're out there supporting what we're trying to do for her means a lot to me.
Goodnight, my friends,
Diana
