I know that you all have heard dozens and dozens of stories about negligent pet shop owners, but I have another one to add.
A couple of months ago, I went to a small pet store to buy crickets for my leopard geckos and I went to look at the iguana babies as always. The man had a 20long aquarium with about 15 baby green iguana's in it. They were in saw dust, with a bowl of water and a lot of iceburg lettuce. Looking closer, I saw a lizard as long as the tank itself, almost covered in the saw dust and baby iguana's. I asked the owner what it was and he said it was a rhino iguana and that it was mean. I asked if I could see it because I love iguana's and most of the time when some one says a lizard is mean, it's really just scared or hurt and trying to protect itself. He pulled it out and it was very limp and didn't move much at all. He was really skinny and his skin hung off of his bones. I asked the owner what made him think the lizard was mean and he said because when you slap it around, it bites. He then commenced to slap it in the face and hold it upside down. Of course it bit at him. He then stated that if it ever did get a bite of him, he would throw it on the floor and stomp it. Pretty sad huh? I haven't been back in that store since.
