I tend to think iguanas will let you know if they really don't like something by whipping biting or even pooping sometimes . They also tolerate things that do not bother them to much touching them in the wrong place picking at there shed clipping there nails I belive they trust you ( after a few years anyway ) and understand that your not doing them harm so they let you get away with it . There are things that they do like ( not all iguanas like the same things ) Speedy likes to be petted on his Tuberculate scales he will climb up on the couch walk over to me and bob his head when he wants this done if I stop before he wants me to he will start bobbing again ( he closes his eyes while I do this as cats do ) . He also loves to be brushed in the tub I have an old toothbrush that I use he will look at me and bob until this is done ( he also closes his eyes during this to and sometimes he just sinks his head under and lays there . A lot of people say that iguanas are stupid they can not be trained and so on I do not belive this Iguanas are smart enough to tell you they like or dislike something and after you live with one long enough you can understand more of what they say ( no they don't talk to me ) . So I would say if your iguana is not attacking you in some way he probably does not really hate it but over time you will learn to understand the difference between his tolerating and liking something as every iguana is different . Good luck .
