Chuck has only been with me since the day before thanksgiving, but I have learned quite a bit about his behaviour and quirks...
I've noticed his head turn from bright green to brown to grey. It seems to depend a lot on his current state of shed. It seems some part of his head is ALWAYS shedding on some part, but it definitely turns a shade of grey before the skin comes off.
The rest of his body is kind of a different story
Mood seems to play an active role in his coloring. Good moods = light colors, bad moods = dark colors. He's kind of like a moood ring LOL.
The other thing I have noticed that will change his colors is temperatures. During the day when the sun shines through the window giving him some extra heat and bright light, he will turn a bright, light shade of green. His black stripes will become less noticable. Later in the evening after the sun goes down, and especially after he falls asleep, he will turn a dark dark shade of green, with his black accents definitely standing out.

: Baby's head definitely changed color as he got older. Now it can range anywhere from a milky gray color to a dark gray. He's about 2 1/2 now. Our little fosters head is still real green. He's less than a year old. They are both very healthy. Hope this helps. J
