I have 4 cats at home, and lots of lizards that like to come out in the house too. I also have done what you did and overlooked a cat ( never did like the jerk ). My ig just got chased around a bit tho...if I were you I wouldn't want the cat around anymore either, the attack probably made him want to get it even more.

But thats what cats do best.....kill the most helpless things we love the most!!!
