I know what you mean, I'm positive they do it as an insult or to tell you they're mad at you. Mine used to do that ALL the time before I had to give him away ( to an experienced guy I know ). He was the nicest little ig, anyone could pick him up and he NEVER whipped. Then I guess he started to go through the "brat" stage, only I didn't know it was a stage. I tried to pu a harness on him one day, and I swear, after that he hated me.
I used to let him free roam, and I didn't have a cage, nor could I afford one, big enough for him.
He was paper trained, and every day I would take him out and lay paper on the table, and he would crawl off my shoulder, go to the bathroom, and crawl back on my shoulder.
But after the harness incident, he insisted on crapping only on my bed, or on any clothes laying around. He even went on ME!
He totally dispised me. He would whip whenever I tryed to pick him up, but it wasn't too bad intil he decided that biting was more affective.
When I found someone good enough to care for him ( the guy knew more than me ) I sold him. The last I heard my ig Jar-Jar was behaving great.
