Hi there... well I know how you feel!
Many years ago I owned a beauty named Magilla.
She was my best friend & even slept in bed with me at night.
I took her to the vet & thought I was doing everything right.
I was about 17 yrs old & took care of her religiously.
But... she became egg bound. My vet tried to help her, but the
only recourse was surgery - we decided to try & get her to lay
them & thought a few days might work with the medicine he gave her.
Well, it didnt. I woke up in the morning & she was dead.
Magilla is buried under the tree below my bedroom window.
God how I miss her.
And for YEARS I would be very strong in my conviction that I would
not get another ever again.
Then, I saw little Stone & I knew that 13 years had passed & there
was new & better knowledge on igs... so I jumped back in & got a baby.
I hope & pray that I do everything right for Stone. And I know that if
he dies I will be devastated - but the good feeling I get from
caring for him makes me know that I cant ever be without an ig again.
I would suggest an adult adoptee if you are ever looking for one again.
I think they are easier to raise than a baby, since they are fragile.
And if I ever do it again - I will adopt an adult as well.
You know a lot about igs & can give one a happy life... think about it.
