Thanks for the replies.......I'm not 100% sure how old the iguanas are, but they are both about 10 inches from tip of nose to tip of tail. I guess you are right about not being able to sex them, but they both look quite different from each other, so we just assumed one is a boy and one is a girl. I was not aware that you couldnt house 2 iguanas of the opposite sex togather, the man at the pet store told us we could, but I guess he was just greedy to make two sales instead of one. Dont worry though, my brother loves reptiles and he will just have to build another cage when they are older, he would never get rid of one of them. The cage he built for them is 4ft long x 2ft wide x 2ft high, I'm sure he realizes that he will need to build another larger cage as they get bigger, he just didnt want to overwhelm them by putting them into a 10ft cage, but it appears they are already overwhelmed. I know the 20 gallon aquarium was to small, but it was only temporary, they seemed to be comforted by their small little area, but now they are scared in the new cage. My brother is worried because the littlest iguana (shes slightly smaller) has lost some weight, I hope she starts eating soon. I'm going over to be house-sitting at my brother's place this weekend, so I will try some of the ideas out, like placing their food near the basking area, and I will bring the iguanas little hammock with me, they used to like sleeping in it when they stayed here.
Thanks again-
BT
