I tried that already but he showed it to a man that is a vet. The vet(which only is supposed to work on cats and dogs) told him " This is the biggest lizard I have ever seen( It is only about 2 1/2 feet long. ) and it appears to be healthy." My sister works for the same vet and she said that he doesn't know anything about iguanas let alone what metabolic bone disease is. I told this to my friend but he will not listen. He swears that it is in good condition. I'm not going to give up though. I am not going to let that iguana die because of some ignorant person that will not listen to reason or even take take time to learn how take proper care of if. Off the record ( I can say this because I know he will not read this even though I told him to take a look at this sight.) I think he is keeping it for a novelty pet and for nothing else. Thanks for all the help though I appriciate all the support from people like you that understand how hard it is to take care of a green iguana.
: Jon, show him the pictures of igs w/ MBD & then offer to help his ig & promise to return it to him once you heal the baby & teach your friend how to really care for him. Passing on the knowledge of how to care for an iguana is the best way to be sure this doesnt happen again. Good luck & let us know what happens.
