:try going to asmall hardware store most the people in the bigger places hq lowes home depot etc.dont even know what they have in the store and most of the people there are highschooler's at least frommy experience try id try a smaller hardware store in ur area get some personal help and maybe if the dont have exactly what u need they can halp with a substitute and i would think as long as they cant hurt themselves or get out of the mesh it wouldnt really matter what it looked like jus my opinion though i like to use plexiglass and wood instead of wire mesh or anything like that with my ig's cage which is basicly just a sleeping ehating area since she is a free roamer i used wood at the bottom which is removable and plexiglass with air holes drilled in at the top and the reat of the cage is wood i feel the bottom being non transperent give her some privacy she seems to like it hope i helped
I am in the finishing process of making on of my iggys new cages. On Catherine Rigby-Burdette's webpage that has the instructions on making a pvc piping cage she has the materials listed out. I went to home depot today for about 2 hours trying to find butterfly clasps. She said that's what you use to put on the door and on one of the panels that makes the door able to open and close acting like a regular hinge. The people at home depot kept on pointing me to all these different directions and I still haven't found the butterfly clasps she is talking about. Is there another name for them? Also, when she says that platic coated wire mesh is also known as hardware cloth, it doesn't look anything the same. In fact home depot didn't even have any so I bought something else. I haven't opened the mesh that I found yet because I wanted to ask you people in the Kingsnake forum if there is any place where I can find plastic coated wire mesh that is 5/8" and "butterfly clasps". I have emailed the person who made the website but she has never replied to me.
: Thanks in advance
