A lamp that a pet iguana used to keep warm may have caused a fire that destroyed a Montgomery County couple's home Wednesday.

A passer-by apparently saw smoke coming from William and Shearon Campbell's home at 2035 Childress Road around 1 p.m., and told a neighbor to dial 911, said Chief Jay Altizer of the Riner Volunteer Fire Department.
