70 should be your cut off . The fact is that in the wild they can go for days in the 40's although I do not recommend trying this . A drop to 50 now and then wont kill them as long as it is not prolonged . Mine likes to explore the basement ( just concrete walls and floor ) not very warm in the winter but he does not stay down there very long . The best advice is to keep him at at least 70 at all times .
