Emergency Update: Coolio's hand

Came to work, called vet and got a midday appointment, took Coolio, and am back at work, just waiting to go home and get to bed! Doc can’t stitch the opening at all, too much of a gap. Was glad to see that it is starting to scab. Says to clean daily and apply antibiotic for next 3 weeks, along with daily dosage of oral antibiotic, and he will see him back then. Barring gangrene, there should be no need to amputate (yay!). Doc was pretty impressed with the way Coolio was using his 2 remaining fingers to get around (rather than just drag them) and he thinks he feels part of a bone where the third finger was, so he may or may not grow a little stump there. So the prognosis looks good, and I hope he gets feelin’ better soon, that’s gotta be so painful :-(
