Wandering Iguana Found - Needs New Home

[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ The Iguana & Water Dragon Forum ] [ FAQ ]

Posted by Morgan on October 30, 1998 at 12:15:51:

Pumpkin was found in the middle of a street in Brookline, Mass. (Boston) two weeks ago. A very kind family took her into their bathroom. They had no lizard experience - just good hearts. I went and picked her up last week and she's been at my house since.

She's in excellent health and is at least 3 years old. Her tail was broken at one point, but it's grown out full length. She eats greens with no problem and is shedding well. She's got a couple of small dings (scrapes) - probably from her outside adventures. She's got a very small (smaller than a pea) abscess in the skin fold under her jaw, but I've got her on SMZ-TMP, which may clear that up. No signs of MBD or of ever having it.

I would keep her, but I have a male that is much smaller and she's pretty dominant. She hasn't shown any signs of agressiveness, other than to Junior (my male). I also really don't want another iguana, particularly because I'm moving enough animals to New Orleans in December as it is.

So put the word out. Anyone interested can email me at morgana@mit.edu or snakegirl@earthlink.net, or can call me at home at 617-287-9438.

I would like to try and avoid shipping, but I'm willing to drive a fair distance to deliver her to someone appropriate.

Thanks!!!
