1 Subtympanic Sheild has no puropse that I know of . They are good for telling baby iguanas from other reptiles as some pet stores have been know to LIE about things .
2 Tuberculate Scales I have been told that they are to make the Iguana look bigger to preditors other then that they have no purpose .
3 Mouth rot you can tell if an Iguana has it by looking for excessive saliva and chunks of "cheese" in it's mouth . There eating habbits will change at the onset they will start biting there food but wont eat it . If you think your iguana has mouth rot get him to the vet ASAP .
