THE STAR (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia) 27 November 00 A novel photo opportunity
UNIQUE ATTRACTION . . . tourists outside the historical Stadthuys building in Malacca watching pet shop owner Tiew Choon Hau, 30, (left) and his cousin Lee Kok Keong, 20, showing off their pet python, iguana and monkey.
For more than a month now, Tiew has been taking his pets to this popular tourist spot on weekends to earn some extra income by allowing them to be photographed.
"Many people want to have their pictures taken with the animals,'' said Tiew who charges RM2 for the shots.
He said most foreign tourists wanted to pose with the python and were not afraid of placing it around their bodies.
Tiew from Machap in Alor Gajah operates a pet shop called Jungle Boy Fauna Enterprise during the week.
