A guy that once visited the reptile rescue in Surrey said that he would rather knock his iguana over the head then bring it to live there.....overcrowded, malnourished, and neglected, the sad thing is its not even the society's fault that the iggys are in this condition, theres just too many to care for...the iguana that the mother bought for her daughters 10th birthday, the iguana that the teenager got tired of, and the many iguanas that parents got rid of after deciding to have children. Even though I enjoy iguanas a lot and I care for my adopted iggy, if I could go back in time and change it so that people never domesticated them I would......It would even be ok if people kept some in a reptile park if they were worried about the ig population, but it just makes me sad to see hundreds of these poor discarded creatures that somebody once bought when they were *cute* little baby iggys, now they almost seem angry and fed up at the iguanas, like its their fault for growing, or being aggressive, or anything else that iguanas do....And its not like, all people are like this, because I know that everyone on this forum really cares for their iggys. Its nice to see so many people actually taking good care of their iguanas, but its so sad to see the people that dont, and its especially sad to see their iguanas.
