my iguana refused to eat the alfalfa, I tried pellets and the hay form, the hay seemed too hard and i thought it might hurt her so I ditched that, i tried crushing them , but then she wouldn't eat at all, When they were whole, she would pick out everything else It was pretty pathetic because i grated everything, I gave up on the alfalfa all toghther. There are so many good things for them to eat, I did a lot of research on the vitamins in the foods and I manage well without the alfalfa. variety is the key. try lots of dark veggies, Pumpkins and squashes are great, Sweet potato, kale, mustard greens Zuchini, stuff like that. No cabbage or broccoli/cauliflower, interfears with calcium absorption or something like that. There's great info all over the internet.
