Another idea might be to place a litter box filled
with water inside the dry bathtub, and not taking
him out until he goes poop. Never tried it, the
idea just came to me, but it might be worth a try!
: Chuck has made a ritual out of using the tub for a crapper in no less than two weeks. I am so proud of him!! But.. I guess my scenario is a a little different, since Chuck is a free roamer. If I could get him to use his littler box now, instead of the tub, that would be great. But.. the only thing I can think of doing is first moving the tub into the living rom where his perch is, and then gradually using smaller and smaller bath tubs!! I dont think that is gonna be easy!!! LOL.

: : it sounds like if the box was meant to be used for hiding, but is now a toilet, it is a whole box, with top and bottom, and all four or three walls.
: : smell plays a big part in recognizing the sh*t hole (lol), so a new funky box like litter box may be viewed as just new furniture.
: : to make his little lizard brain understand that it is the toilet, leave a piece of the soiled box inside. he should go: "Oh! So it's the same spot! Gee, nice new toilet!".
: : Some igs just remember the spot, and do not need the old smell to get the idea.
: : once he got it, take out the soiled pice of cardboard, and he should go on his merry way by himself.
: : Water is not good, because it harbors quickly bactteria, and he may get a gulp from it. butcher paper is great, or baby wipes (moistness to stimulate it, but great for smell and cleaning).
: : i'm sure others may have better ideas. this is how i see it, and a friend had the same problem, and followed it so.
: : good luck!
