Iguanas can withstand relatively low temps for short periods. Not freezing, of course, but temps in the 50's and 60's can be withstood IF THEY DON'T LAST. In most sub-tropical areas where igs have colonized, low temps are usually brief. If the iguana can bask within a day or two, no problem. If the low temps are around for an extended time, it is usually fatal. Iguanas can go a surprisingly long time in an environment without supplimental heat,(room temperature)but will eventually die.
