I suspected that would be the best way to help him, but just wanted to make sure. I dont wanna do anything thats gonna hurt my lil one. I'm sure we all share that concern though.

Now, if I could just figure out how long it will take for all his spikes on his back to start standing up nice and straight... I dotn know why, but most of them are bent or curled over. A few are missing. May be results of mistreatment by the previous owner, or just from him squirming while someone was trying to hang on. Not a big deal, I just want him to be as pretty as possible :)

: If the skin isn't loose, leave it alone, if its just hanging here, then take the "hanging" peice off don't try to pull the rest of it off as well.
: When Tarzan is shedding, I make sure to give him plenty of warm soaks. I do help him with his shed, he just sits there and has the biggest *ahhhh* expression on his face, as if he's thinking "ooh, a little lower, no... a bit to the right, there!" I don't try to pel off the skin thats not ready to shed, sometimes if you GENTLY rub the loose skin, it will just flake off. He especially needs help when he reaches the middle-lower part of his tail. with his spikes, I rub them in between my fingers (once again I emphasize the word GENTLY) and the old spike-skin just pops off, on his lower back I just rub my finger down with slight pressure and the spike's shed falls off (he still has the itty-bitty spikes there).

: I hope this helps, LOL it sounds like a masseus instruction manual!
