I feel sick about this, but I just looked over Habib for his weekly skin inspection and to my horror, I found a 1 1/2 inch blister on his stomach! I feel so bad about it. It's not black or charred, thank goodness, but is yellowish-tan in color, and is full of liquid.
I DO NOT use a hot rock of any sort so I'm suspecting that his heating pad did it; that's the only thing I can think of, since he has no way to physically access his basking lamp, and I've "ig-proofed" his room. I keep his heating pad set on medium, but think that I'll now keep it on low.
Other than the blister, he is acting completely normal. He's active, seems to have an appetite and is social and sweet.
Has any one out there had this happen to their Ig? If so, did you take him to the vet or let it heal naturally? Money is really tight right now, so if it will heal on it's own, I'll do anything I could to help it. Please write and tell me what remedies there are, and what I should do for my little guy. I hate to think of him being in pain.
Thanks so much~
Diana
PS: I know that putting aloe vera on human skin burns really helps the healing process. Do you think that a similar thing would help his tummy heal?
