I have used the purple tinted light, for its low actual light output and good heat output, but here is why my concern developed:
In reading some more info on MK's site, I noticed a comment about the purple/black lights causing vision problems in some Igs, and dont want this to happen to mine.
I may also be switching to a ceramic element when my pocket book lets me :(
On the other hand, when I move to my new house in the spring I will have an extra room where I can keep the Ig at night. That will make it much easier to heat just THAT room, instead of trying to raise the temp of the whole house :)

: and I use the purplish/blackish ones at night. I may eventually switch to CHEs (because I think in the long-run they are more cost effective) but I'm also comfortable with my choice of night lights, and feel certain that my igs are sleeping comfortably :-)
