If Bug's attitude seems a little salty on a particular day, I spritz him with water. He likes this, and closes his eyes. At that time, I handle him. Usually, if the Ig closes it's eyes, it will submit. Try the water spray, and when she closes her eyes, just stroke her for a while. If all goes well, you should be able to pick her up.
