When I buy my leafy greens, I wash them, cut off the thick stems, so that only the leaf is there, then I chop them up into the appropriate size and let htem dry a little (if you put wet leaves into a ziploc bag htey tend to "rot" and get mushy), then I put the semi-dry but still damp chopped up leaves into a Ziploc bag and place them into the bottom drawer of my fridge.
