NJ Boardwalk Iguanas

I received a letter from Atlantic City today that says that iguanas have never been sold on the boardwalk at Atlantic City-that this was the case in Cape May County and that the legislature has banned the sale of iguanas by any one other than licensed pet stores. Is this so?
