This, I can only base on my own experience. Some igs may differ, but as my Rex has aged, his stripes *have* gotten darker, and I have also noticed a thin turquois stripe next to each black stripe on his body. (It's not like that on his tail though). And his green coloring has become a more dark green instead of the neon green when I first got him. I guess it just depends on the ig.
