Hmmmm, I would think the growth rate would be slowed during the winter since their metablosm would slow and everything else would slow down. But I would also like to make the point that with the temperature lower and the ig's metabolism slowed this makes them suseptible to disease. I don't know of any iguana diseases, but it's something to be on the look out for. Maybe when you talk with your dad about this, take time to do it. Sit down and discuss with him what it is that he would like, and what it is that you would like. If you take time to do this in a calm manner (even though it can be totally frustrating trying to talk about herps with non-herp loving people) I think you and your dad can make an agreement based on both your needs. Just remember, don't yell, don't whine, and don't say anythinglike "that's stoopid". Hey I'm a kid too, I have just had a ton of these discussions and I'll tell you they work (90% of the time). If all else fails in the discussion, you can bring up the point that by not allowing you to properly care for your animals he is sentencing them to live out poor suffering lives. He wouldn't do this to a puppy or kitten would he? (see, if you relate reptiles to mammals many non-herpers star t to make mental connections) Yes, I know it's not entirely true, but they won't be living the lives they were meant to.
