Hello! Congrats on the pregnancy!
I have an 11week old daughter. I cared for my ig while pregnant, but, I did take some pre-cautions.
I fed her and watered her but made sure I didnt cross contaminate my sink and surrounding area. When it was time to feed her I would do just that and nothing else ( to avoid contaminating everything). I pretty much handled the situation like I would raw chicken. I started washing her food and water bowl in the bathroom sink, then cleaning the area with a bleach and water solution when done. When I bathed my ig I was very careful not to get cut (from her sharp nails), sometimes I wore a clean pair of disposeable dishwashing gloves, Gwaners didnt mind. I cleaned the cage a few times, but, mostly made my husband do it ( I was pretty sick thru out the pregnancy anyway, bad "morning sickness"). I always made sure to wash my hands very well after I handled Gwaners and her cage or accessories. Sometimes I changed my shirt or clothes ( like after I bathed her). Now that I have the baby I am still extemely careful with keeping Gwaners cage clean, and everything that comes in contact with her, her food dishes and such. You can never be too careful. When I feed gwaners and such I pretty much always change my shirt if I feel I may have gotten Gwaners cooties on it =) My husband mostly feeds Gwaners now since Im so busy with the baby!

Hope this helps! Good luck! Feel free to email me if you have any questions.. Yvette
