: while at a pet store my husband was approached to rescue a 2 1/2 ft iguanna. he said "sure why not." The igauna has been in several homes and is hand tame(?)He has only tried to tail whip my dog when he came near. He seems to have taken with me ( the wife) and if weren't for a couple of concerns I would be right pleased with our new addition. his nails are so SHARP i have many scratch marksf rom my gentle handling of him. I am also concerned about (spelling) salminella. I have four children and they arent the best hand washers if i am not right on top of them. the ig( we are thinking of a name ) climbed on the walls today, the light fixtures and a picture frame. It was amusing. He doesn't have a cage. He sleeps in an arifical fica tree. He came with a leash only. My husband purchased a light from the pet store. He did not eat today, fresh peas, vegies etc, he only stuck out his tounge. This concludes day one. I would love any advice, etc. i would love to hear about typical day in the life for an ig who is somewhat handtame. Can an ig and a dog or two get along? thanks for your help everyone!
