Actually, its pretty easy! At about 1/5 - 2 years of age you can get a definate sex of your iguana, hatchlings. . . Nuh uh!
The iguana has bumps running along its "thighs" femae iguana's have small, barely visible, pinpoint dots running down her thighs, the size variation differs, The male has prominent large bumps, these bumps are called femoral pores. A sexually mature adult male will have large "cheeks" or jowls and a more masculine-looking face, while the female iguana is smaller in overall size and has a stream-line head.
