Glad he got a clean bill of health.
From what I hear, that spray is crap! A crushed vitamin is fine (not sure of the amount since that is for human consuption-- might be easier to regulate the vitamins made for igs. I use Herptivite (by Rep-Cal) but only once per week. I also use their calcium supplement on occasion, although some people use crushed tums. Since I feed so many calcium rich veggies, I don't supplement with these very often.
As far as your light goes, Zoomed Iguana lights are a much better brand (offer more uv) or the new UV heat bulbs (forget the brand and they are the most expensive option but offer the most UV) I've used the vitalite in the past too, but it really isn't as good.
Good luck to you and Chuck ;-) He's handsome!
: Hi everyone! I brought Chuck to the vet on monday, and much to my relief, everything went great! He weighed in at 4.5 lbs, and the vet said he is in good health. Not underweight at all. He was behaing surprisingly well for the vet too :) Sat on the table like a nice lil Ig while being examined. He decided to poop on the floor while my snake was getting examined though!! I dont know what made him decide that was a good place to go, maybe the temperature?? The floor was pretty cold.
: At home, Chuck has adjusted quite well, and is nto causing TOO much havoc in my house :) He has managed to force me to remove all the curtains from my living room though. I cam home the other day, and he had done a little redecorating for me. Curtains were on the floor. I am picking up the fixture for his vitalite today after work, and then I think I have everything I need for him. He has accepted his new diet, but still likes to pick through it trying to find the REAL good stuff. I have begun using a cheese grater so he has a harder time picking out the stuff he really likes.
: Does anyone else here use the Four Paws calcium spray for their Ig's food? Chuck's previous owner gave me this spray when I picked him up, but I have been wondering if it really does any good for him. Is a multivitamin crushed over his food a better way to get him the extra nutrients?
: Thanks everyone,
: Mark, Magodai, and Chuck
