Reptiles CAN get sick from Salmonella, though they usually just carry it without getting ill!

However, you mentioned that it was tested for Salmonella.....you can NEVER get an answer that proves that your animal ( whichever it is ) is free from Salmonella. Salmonella is a tricky one, it can lay dormant ( sleeping ) for years, and suddenly burst out. Also, it doesn't show in feaces everytime, just now and then. That's why you should ALLWAYS consider reptiles as potential salmonella carrier
