supercool!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the update on Clyde too-- I was wondering how that poor fella was faring.
I'm sure it may take Wasabi awhile to acclimate so I wouldn't worry too much about the eating yet. And I wouldn't introduce the two igs for awhile either (especially until the little guy is settled in and feeling like he owns the place too. I think it might intimidate him. (I just looked at his pic on the web--how small and sweet!)
Good luck and keep us posted.
: I just picked up my new ig, Wasabi, from Colorado Reptile Rescue today. He is SO tiny (and CUUUTTTEEE!!!). Anyways, I can't get him to eat. Is he just getting used to his new surroundings or what? I have a huge enclosure for him (I thought he was going to be a lot larger) but after seeing him I decided to put him in a 30 gallon aquarium w/ a water bowl, a hide log, and a PVC pipe wrapped with reptile carpet. I have a UVB light and a heat light which I haven't turned on because my room is at about 90 degrees and really humid as I have a warm mist humidifier on. It's been YEARS since my other ig was this small and I can't remember if he was this picky (now he dives for the food the second he sees it and I have to actually take his food dish away from him after he finishes so he won't try to eat it too)... Is this normal for a small ig? He is 11 inches long and pretty thin. Colorado Reptile Rescue still has a pic of him up on their Juvenile Iguana list, I think... It's at http://www.geocities.com/~corr98/iguanajuvy.html
: And another thing... Do you think it would be safe to allow Wasabi and Iggy, my 3 1/2 foot female ig, to meet each other? I know I've heard things about males fighting but I haven't really heard anything about size...
: And for all the people out there wondering about Clyde, the pet store iguana w/ one eye that someone posted about earlier, he is doing great. When I saw him he was stuffing his face and actually trying to eat the towel he was laying on. He was really cute! If I had more experience with treating special iguanas I would of adopted him, but, unfortunately, I don't so I didn't. = (
: Well, thanks ahead of time!
