Visible ribs can be a sign of starvation or dehydration, but can be other things like internal parasites (correct me if I'm wrong). Romaine lettuce isn't all that nutritous or filling, so get him on a better diet ASAP! Igs can live for several years on "empty" foods that have no nutrition whatsoever, but they aren't healthy lizards.
