Thank you for those words of wisdom... I wasnt too concerned about the little bit of chicken this animal has been fed. I was told it was once in a VERY great while. But... that is all to end immediately!!
Once again, thank you for the help, you guys make this much easier!!

: Mark,
: Glad to hear you've decided to take her in-- sound like you are plenty competent. Reading the posts below, no one seemed to mention that the diet she currently has is ALL WRONG and completely horrid! Romaine has as much nutrition as water and chicken is a NO NO (no animal protein). Melissa Kaplan's pages are great, and so are Jen Swofford's below-- I believe this diet to be a little more palatable to iguanas and easier to prepare. You may have some trouble with her eating for the mere fact that she hasn't been fed properly and isn't used to the taste of these nutritious veggies. I would reccommend mixing the romaine lettuce with the other veggies (collards etc) so that it isn't a complete shock to her (ween her off) but lose the protein immediately! Romaine won't hurt her, just like drinking water!
: Anyway, good luck and keep us posted! :-)
