No I didn't miss your point. You want to use a new bowl that you FASTEN to the enclosure, but she freaks out with the NEW bowl. Again, try what I suggested. MY point John, was for you to introduce the new (scary) bowl gradually over time, and not to just thrust it on her and scare her.
What I do with a couple of our lizards is, use those plastic containers that are for food storage (meant to be used a couple of times and tossed), I punch 2 holes in them (side by side) and run a twist tie through the holes. Twist the tie through the cage wire. This is assuming your cage is wire and not glass/plexiglass.
Haven't you been feeding her up until NOW with a bowl that tips over?
You could solve this problem simply by what was already suggested, lose the bark in the bowl area and let her keep her original bowl. In fact, you ought to lose the bark altogether. Don't you think she's tongue flicking that bark regardless if her bowl is there or not or if you use a FASTENED bowl or not?
If I got this straight, you do not want to use newspaper or paper products or artifical grass because YOU do not like how it looks. What about a piece of vinyl flooring cut to size. What's more important, the health of your lizard, or how it "looks" to you?
Sue2 (Who John has just rubbed the wrong way. Grrrrrrrrrrr........)
