amputation

OK - I am not going to amputate unless it becomes a serious issue. I am watching to make sure it doesnt turn black. Right now it isnt so straight up (in the wrong direction of course) as it was yesterday evening. It is more to the side & up today. Not swollen & not black - so I am hoping that it "heals" to some extent. Although I am sure it will be in the wrong direction now forever. : (
I feel so sad about this. But at least I know he will survive. I talked to my vet & he said that he doesnt think it needs to be amputated - to watch it - and if it becomes a problem for Stone or starts to look "bad" I should bring him in. So now... I wait & hope for my baby. I am just heartbroken over this - now I know how a parent feels when their kid breaks a leg or arm!
