Hi
I have and have had igs together for years, just to find out that they suddenly starts fighting. Any number of things could be the reason. For instance:
1) Age..i.e maturity, when they go into maturity, you can expect them to start fights with eachother! These fights can be mild and they can be fatal, and it can happen in a split second!
2) Just plain lack of space. Sometimes though, a really small cage can be better, since the urge for territory dominance may not develop ( actually the only reason for a small cage :-) ).
3) Just for the heck of it ;-). I don't know why they sometimes just starts hating eachother after several years together, but it happens ( maybe like humans, they want something new in their lives :-)).
For me it has worked most of the times when I tried one male w/ one or two females, but you have to remember that the cages they are in are BIG ( over 300 sqfeet and 12 feet high ) and I guess that improves the chances!?
