Usually it's more of a behavioral symptom, than a desease, so that is a relief (partly).
Anorexia can be a cause. The animal stops eating for whatever reason. If it persists, call vet.
Sometimes they get ticked off of the same stuff they're offered, and stop eating.
Breeding season plays another role in feeding behavior.
The habitat may be too cool, or got tired of the flavor/texture of the veggies.Proper lighting (in all senses) and INTERNAL PARASITES can be a problem. Get a stool sample and have the vet check it out.
Some iguanas dont like to be looked at at feeding time. Sometimes is the shedding that makes them get weird, or a sudden change in the habitat, or location (new cage, components, house, ownership, room, pets around, etc.).
Warm baths can get the "unclogged" if they got a lotta shh...uh....poo poo in their intestines (constipation), and natural sunlight (if you live where it's nice and warm and sunny, like FLA or CA) stimulates natural behavior of eating.
Good luck and let us know!
: My Iguana suddenly stopped eating and hasnt eaten for a long time i am giving him his favorite foods and he has a healthy diet but suddenly stopped eating. What should I do!!!!
