It's really up to you. They can swim-- he won't drown although it's always a good idea to keep an eye on them. If you fill it more it will encourage him to swim and he may grow to like it-- Sleestack used to sink to the bottom of the tub when he was younger and hold his breath, and swim around with his eyes open. Now that he is older, I don't use any water and he poops in the tub without it (easier for me to clean)-- than I rinse him off. But when he has had an accident in his cage (more often than not these days) I take him to the tub (and wait, because he'll go as again as soon as he's put in there) then after cleaning out the poo, I fill the tub to give him a good cleaning since he usually has some poop on himself from his earlier mess in his cage.
: just curious as to how deep i should make tub watrer for Reptars bath. should he be able to touch or should i make him have to swim the whole time. i tried just and inch and he wont stay in the water. he runs to the end of tub where there is no water.
