Hi!
Well, he pretty much hangs out on his shelf most of the day. The shelf is 14 inches from the top of the cage. We have two heat bulbs (have to ask hubby about wattage and he's not here right now), one is over the shelf and the other is a little farther out to help heat the middle of the cage. We have a large tree branch that he climbs to get to his shelf with garden cloth stapled on it to help him climb. Sometimes he comes down off his shelf and lounges on the middle of the branch. We also have a red heat bulb that we just leave on all the time. His basking shelf is around 95 to 100 during the day. At night, with just the night-time heat lamp on, it's around 75-80 degrees. We also use reptisun 5.0 UV bulbs (24") positioned right over his shelf but they don't throw off much heat. I finally have a roll of film ready to develop so hopefully will be able to post pics here pretty soon. J
