Question #1: Is a Spider plant toxic? how about ivy plants?

Question #2: Tazan was shedding, and as soon as he was COMPLETELY shedded, he is starting up again, he only had about a week of clear skin and now his skin is turning the greyish "ready-to-shed" color. Is this Normal??
