iZ makes this *very quiet* tsk tsk noise too! i can only think to describe it as a kind of "ig-purr" ... i usually only hear it when he's snuggled happily against my neck before bedtime ... there's no way i can possibly interpret it as any kind of aggression ... he does it when he's pressed his head up against my neck + his body rather melted up against mine ...

and i also use a tsk tsk noise as a soothing thing for him too! it's possible he's figured out what it means and not necessarily that i'm actually speaking his language, but it *does* seem to help him relax when he's mildly stressed ...

i remember posting just like you when i first heard this noise a couple years ago ... not many people have heard it and that makes me wonder if it's specific to a certain variety of iguana??? it's a moot point since i have no clue "where" iZ is from tho .....

don't worry about being "nuts" ... it was too late for that when you decided to be an "ig-mom" ... *evil giggle* ...
