Danny, I think you have missed the point. The issue is not that iguanas that are sold on the boardwalk are abused by thier owners, but that they are sold on the boardwalk in the first place. Iguanas that are sold for $5.00 in this carnival atmosphere have an almost 100% mortality rate. When people can buy an animal with as specialized needs as iguanas have for practically nothing, and receive no care or husbandry info, the animal is doomed. Not only does selling iguanas on the Boardwalk need to stop, but this needs to stop everywhere. I recently visited the Kentucky State Fair, and Iguanas were for sale there for $12.00. exactly the same result as the Boardwalk sales, except the fair only went on for 10 days. I am writing to the Ky Fair board to try to stop this for next year. As to backing this up, if you understand iguanas and thier needs, you'll know why this is abusive, and wrong.
: Mabye is just me, butit seems like a lot of folks on this forum, thinks boardwalk igs are all abused. How about some info backing this up? Thanks, Danny
