ok ~ more details on iZ's day

oooooooh what a long day ... we left home at 6am ... checked iZ in with the doc at 8am + talked to the doc and kissed iZ bye ... we went + got a cheap motel room and zonked out ... well, i tried to anyway ...

the doc called at 11:30 and said everything had gone well and iZ was awake and that he'd let him go home at 3pm ... (*whew*) ... i did better at napping after that ...

went back at 3pm + iZ was wrapped in his blue towel in his pet carrier waiting for me ... very obviously *very* stressed out, had no color at all to his head ... and was holding himself up off his belly ... Dr. M sez things went well, took about an hour ... had to clean out his cecum (again!) and saved what looks like 2 links from a chain for me and then in a bigger container THE STONE ... OMG ... poor iZ! it's like the size of a chicken egg, but is flatter instead of round ... i'm gonna take it to work + weigh it cuz i didn't think to do it there ... it's *heavy* and i think 4oz easy ...

Dr. M went over post-op instructions, etc and told me iZ had already peed + pooped!!! Way To Go iZ-baby!!!! *proud mommy grin*

iZ perked up after we'd been in the car a few minutes, his color started coming back but was obvious he couldn't find a comfortable position ...

got home at 5pm and took him directly up to his recovery-bed and tucked him in + turned off the lights so he'd sleep ...

went up at 7pm to give him some fluids + a bit of food ... he was soooo thirsty! and was *very* interested in the pureed collard mush i'd made him too ... the way i have his bed set up, i don't have to move him at all (which i'm sure he appreciates!) ... he drank 20cc of infalyte and then ate 30-40cc's of mush ... he just kinda licked it off the spoon, slowly, with his eyes shut ... (*sniffle*) ... i think he'd have eaten more, but don't wanna put too much in him til the anesthesia's more out of his system ...
am gonna give him another 10-20cc's of infalyte before i go to bed ... (goal is 150cc's of fluid ev. 24hr ... *whew*)

and for those who are wondering if my sleeping bag is next to his bed or if he's sleeping between me + Brett ... his tummy's way too tender to sleep in a water bed and i don't need the sleeping bag cuz his bed is right outside my bedroom door ... so there! (*grin*) ... and *yes* i've been waking up multiple times a nite, checking on him with a little flashlight and i'm sure i'll be awake tonite too! ...

gonna keep him very quiet tomorrow, and keep it dark for most of the time so that he can hopefully just sleep thru the worst of the post-op stuff ...

ummmm ... i think that's most of it ... i'm gonna go pass out for a couple hours now ... thank everyone for all of the support!!!!!
