: and i agree that mike should not take the iguana he bought back to the boardwalk.
: but the comment made about an animal should remain in your home the rest of its life no matter what...just doesnt even make sense. so an animal that doesnt adjust well to your home shouldnt be adopted out to a loving caring family that would be a more peaceful and enjoyable place for him to live?? so the animal should just have to suffer with it because i made a decision to bring him into my home? i dont think so. if at anytime i can no longer be a good parent to my animals i will always find just that right person that can be. my pets will not be subject to neglect or abuse, just because i brought them here and now they are here to stay, no matter what. i would never just give them away to anyone, though. the animal is always the one to think of first. the home would have to be the best one for him.
: sorry if i misunderstood.

:
: : I have three igs housed together they all came into the house at differant times and it took about five years of slow introduction before they lived together full time in a very large encloser. The first two igs were bought as babies about a year apart. The second one turned out to be a male and extremly dificult from day one, he would not eat when anybody was around and for the first four years I never saw him eat. There was a multitude of problems w/him from day one but the thought of bringing back to the store where I got him never crossed my mind even w/the cost of vet bills the hours of force feading and the complete distaste he had showed towards me is compltely worth it. The way I feel is that once you take an animal into your home it should be there for the rest of its life know matter what. The politically corect thing might be to take your ig back as a protest to the treatment of imported igs and adopt a rescued ig but then the chances that it will get a good home are slim and will probally die a long painful death.

hey sue thanks the hatchling was returned today even though i didnt want to my dad just didnt want another iguana in the house mike
