If this is the total diet, there definately needs to be more variety of greens(collards, turnip, dandelion, mustard, etc) and I would vary the veggies too! Variety is the key, not the same thing over and over.
Ex: 1 week:--Collard,turnip,mustard greens--escarole,butternut squash, green beans, small amount of papaya.
2 week:--Collard,turnip,dandelion greens--cilantro,green pepper, spaghetti squash, small amount of raspberries or no fruit at all!
This is similar to what I do, I always rotate collards, turnip, mustard, and dandelion greens as staple items, sometimes I use all of them! Then I change the veggies around a lot, always got some green veggie, a squash, and sometimes a little fruit!
Variety is best! Check out Jen S site on food and nutrition, ask questions and read a lot about different veggies and their Ca:P ratio and if they're OK to use!
Your iguana may be picky and only eat certain things?
I never use alfalfa, I believe mine gets enough plant protein.
Once a month I will crush up some zoomed ig food and sprinkle it on his salad, its main ingredient is alfalfa!
I also supplement about twice a month with Sticky Tounge's Mineral-All Outdoor(no D3).
Hope this helps.
Does anyone feed their Ig's this..........
: 1/2 cub shredded green beabs
: 1/2 cup squash
: 1/2-3/4 cup alf alfa
: 1/4 cup fruit
: I have been feeding my ig a similar diet, only no alf alfa, and collard greens. Should I edit Mr.Greens diet? Is ther any draw back to alf alfa?
