: Thank you Elizabeth, but the vet in my area does not know alot about IG's but is willing to work with me. So I was hoping to be able to give him some assistance. We have an appt. for friday. Thank's so much.

Here are a few things that it could be then. :) As far as the lump goes, it could be an abcess(though typically you see those on heads/feet)or maybe a broken bone. It could be a calcified spot on her rib from a previous broken bone that is just now showing up. Even if he doesn't have much reptile experience, he should probably be able to determine what's going on.

As far as the skin condition goes, bacterial infections are pretty common with iguanas, but there are some other causes as well. You might want to suggest a culture be taken to determine exactly what is causing the blotches to determine the best course of attack.

Does your vet have a copy of the Mader reptile veterinary book? I don't remember the exact name, but it's pretty much the standard for reptile medicine. If your vet doesn't have it, it might help him out in the reptile area. :)
